Below are the basic steps and requirements to getting your real estate license in Oklahoma. Once you have an understanding of the requirements below you can view our other blog here that breaks down the 4 steps to get your Oklahoma real estate license.
To be eligible for an Oklahoma real estate license, you must meet the following requirements:
Be at least 18 years old.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Complete 90 hours of pre-licensing education from an approved education provider.
Pass a criminal background check.
The next step is to complete the required 90 hours of pre-licensing education. This education must be taken from an approved education provider and covers topics such as real estate principles and practices, contracts, finance, and appraisal.
After completing the pre-licensing education, you must pass the Oklahoma Real Estate Exam. The exam is administered by PSI and consists of 150 multiple-choice questions. You must score at least 70% to pass the exam.
Once you have passed the Oklahoma Real Estate Exam, you can apply for your license. You must submit an application to the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission along with proof of completing the pre-licensing education and passing the exam. You will also need to provide your fingerprints for a background check and pay the application fee.
After your license application has been approved, you must find a sponsoring broker to activate your license. Your broker will provide you with a license application and submit it to the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission on your behalf.
